ANNUAL REPORT 2013 AND NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Johnston Press plc (the "Company") announces that it posted its 2013 Annual Report together with its Notice of Annual General Meeting (which also explains the business to be conducted at the meeting), to be held at 12.00 noon at the offices of Ashurst LLP, Broadwalk House, 5 Appold Street, London, EC2A 2HA on 27 June 2014, and proxy form to shareholders, today.

Separate General Meetings of holders of the Company's 13.75% Cumulative Preference Shares (the "Preference Shares") and 13.75% "A" Cumulative Preference Shares (the "A" Preference Shares) will also be held on the same date and at the same venue at 1.00 p.m. and 1.15 p.m., respectively (or as soon thereafter as the prior meeting of the Company convened for the same day and place shall have concluded or been adjourned). Notice of those Separate General Meetings together with the appropriate proxy forms have been sent to relevant shareholders today.

Copies of the above documents have been submitted to the National Storage Mechanism and will shortly be available for inspection at http://www.hemscott.com/nsm.do. Copies are also available on the Company's website - http://www.johnstonpress.co.uk.

The Company further announces that, in accordance with DTR 6.1.2, its proposed new Articles of Association showing the amendments to be proposed for adoption at the Company's forthcoming Annual General Meeting and Separate General Meetings of holders of Preference Shares and "A" Preference Shares, have been submitted to the National Storage Mechanism and will shortly be available for inspection at http://www.hemscott.com/nsm.do. A summary of the proposed changes is set out in the Notice of Annual General Meeting which is available on the Company's website
