Altona Energy Plc
("Altona" or "the Company")
AGM Statement
At the AGM of Altona (AIM: ANR) which is to be held today at 11am, Mr Michael Zheng, Executive Chairman, will make a statement as follows:
"We are very excited with the progress the Company has made over the past three months, especially the signing of a joint venture agreement with our new business partners, Sino-Aus and Wintask, who will support us in the Arckaringa project. We look forward to working with them over the next two years to complete the drilling programme and bankable feasibility study.
"As part of the ongoing joint venture partnership, we are currently investigating all our available options to find the most suitable method of producing Coal-To-Methanol and Coal Chemical products.
"Altona is undergoing an evolution which is seeing the Company move away from being a passive partner in the Arckaringa project to becoming a more proactive partner, in order to achieve our goals. We have seen a change in management, a change in partners, a change in attitude and a change in ability; all of which is focused on delivering on our strategy to develop the Arckaringa project."
A copy of the Company's presentation, which will be given at the AGM this morning, will be posted on the Company's website today.
