"This demonstrates that we are making our customers a veryattractive offers and, fulfilling the challenge of supplying the demand," saysSimon Burckhardt, Chief Marketing Officer, CESKY TELECOM, adding, "We plan togain the next hundred thousand customers at an even faster pace." CESKY Telecom began providing broadband Internet on March 3, 2003. By the end of2004, the operator had 100,000 registered customers. "We reached this numbertwenty-two months after we first introduced the service. It then took onlyanother eight months before we got another hundred thousand broadbandsubscribers," Mr. Burckhardt continues. "We achieved this through moresimplified offers such as Internet Expres Optimal that we introduced at thebeginning of this year, and then the feature rich Internet Expres Doma rangelaunched in June. These offers have attracted massive attention in the market,"says the operator's Chief Marketing Officer. "Customers have also selected our services because they are available in over1,121 localities in the Czech Republic, which means coverage of more than 90% ofCESKY TELECOM's telephone lines in the country," adds Vlastimil Srsen, theoperator's Press Spokesman. While ADSL services were being launched in March,2003, broadband Internet was available in Prague, Brno and Ostrava, which meanta total of 44% of the Czech Republic's telephone lines. In 2004 alone, thenumber of localities with broadband Internet doubled; since the beginning ofthis year, this number has grown by another 31%.
