(Alliance News) - Ireland's trade surplus narrowed in November as exports fell while imports grew, data published by the Central Statistics Office showed on Wednesday.
The country's trade surplus shrank by 14% to EUR8.64 billion in November from EUR10.05 billion in October.
Exports fell 4.4% to EUR19.83 billion in November from EUR20.74 billion in October, while imports rose 4.6% to EUR11.19 billion in November from EUR10.69 billion in October.
Notably, exports to other EU countries declined 23% to EUR7.03 billion in November from EUR9.15 billion in October. Imports from the EU rose 1.7% to EUR4.30 billion in November from EUR4.23 billion in October.
Irish exports to the US grew 18% to EUR8.09 billion In November from EUR6.85 billion in October, while imports from the world's largest economy climbed 5.7% to EUR1.63 billion in November from EUR1.54 billion in October.
