Kavango Resources PLC - mineral exploration company with operations in Botswana - Hits sulphide, chromite mineralisation at around 651 metres from the surface in diamond drill hole TA2DD002. Says TA2DD002 is the second hole in the planned six hole programme currently being undertaken to investigate the Karoo gabbros in the Hukuntsi section of the Kalahari Suture Zone in Botswana. Plans to send core samples from TA2DD002 and target area A to be analysed. Once the company completes drilling at target area A, it says it will mobilise drill rig at area B.
Chief Executive Ben Turney says: "The presence of chalcopyrite (copper sulphide) is an indicator of further potential mineralisation in the system, though quantities and grades are yet to be determined. While this is an encouraging development in our efforts to prove the concept of the Kalahari Suture Zone, important steps remain for us to evaluate thoroughly what we have discovered. We expect to continue drilling Hole TA2DD002 further into the proterozoic structure."
