(Alliance News) - Equipmake Holdings PLC on Monday announced it has signed a manufacturing & supply agreement with Textron Ground Support Equipment Inc.
Equipmake is a Norfolk, England-based developer of electrification solutions for the automotive, aerospace, marine, construction and bus markets. Textron is a Georgia, US-based manufacturer of airport ground support vehicles.
The deal will see Equipmake supply its zero-emission drivetrain for use in Textron's Safeaero 220 airside de-icing vehicle, which will be added to Textron's aviation ground support equipment production line following the delivery from Equipmake.
Equipmake's zero emission drivetrain is a fully-integrated system including motors, control systems, inverters, battery packs, and heating, ventilation & air conditioning, which will support Textron's sustainability targets as part of its transition to zero-emission products.
Chief Executive Officer Ian Foley said: "Textron is a world-leading manufacturer of specialised airport ground support vehicles. Its selection of Equipmake for the electrification of the Safeaero 220 de-icer is a considerable endorsement of both our innovative products and cutting-edge technology, and our ability to apply them in new, important, industry sectors. We are proud to be supporting Textron as it transitions its product range to zero emissions to meet its sustainability goals."
Shares in Equipmake were flat at 3.00 pence each on the Aquis Exchange on Monday afternoon.
