Hilton Food performance meets its expectations amid 'good' progress in Western Europe

Thu, 31st Oct 2019

Food packing business Hilton Food said performance from mid-July to date had met its expectations, driven by good progress in Western Europe. In Western Europe, the company said it had made good progress in a number of markets, with sales in the UK, driven predominantly by higher Tesco red meat volumes as well as increased Seachill volumes. Volumes remain relatively flat in both Sweden and Denmark, and in Holland, performance was boosted by vegetarian and vegan products produced by Dalco, the company said. But in Central Europe, volumes had remained challenged. In Australia, we 'delivered double-digit volume growth from our business, covering the joint venture in Bunbury and Victoria, as well as the new Queensland site which has commenced production in line with the revised accelerated plan,' the company said. 'The group's financial position remains strong and we continue to explore opportunities to invest in and to grow the business in both domestic and overseas markets,' it added.
