Advanced Oncotherapy commences radiotherapy treatment study

Wed, 4th Dec 2019

Advanced Oncotherapy said it had commenced, along with medical centre Cleveland Clinic, a two-year study to evaluate radiotherapy treatments. More specifically, the study would evaluate the target conformity of proton minibeams in comparison with X-ray stereotactic body radiation therapy and stereotactic radiosurgery. 'The use of a smaller beam means greater accuracy in targeting the desired tissue, which is essential when treating tumours near critical organs, particularly for the edge of the tumours,' the company said.
